FAQ

  • What if I want to customize something on my dress?

Customizations are a fantastic way to make your dress more unique! Whether it’s adding a strap to the dress, changing the neckline, or anything else that you want to customize, we ask that you bring inspirational photos so we can help get your vision to life. Also, if you plan to add something that would require extra fabric, please contact the bridal salon you purchased your dress from to ask about buying extra fabric that matches your dress. Ideally, we would have the fabric before the first fitting.

  • What is the cost of alterations?

Every dress and body are unique, making it challenging to give an accurate alteration cost ahead of the fitting. The cost for bridal alterations is somewhere between $300 and $1200, but it could be out of that range depending on what is needed.

  • What do I need to bring to my fitting?

You will need your exact shoes and any undergarments you plan to wear with the dress. Without these two things, we cannot proceed with the fitting. In addition, you are welcome to bring your veil, jewelry, or accessories to the fitting if you would like to try them on with the dress.

  • When should I book my fitting?

For Bridal fittings, we recommend booking your first fitting about 3 months before the wedding date. For Bridesmaids, the Mother of the Bride or Groom, and formal dresses, we recommend booking your first fitting about two months before the event.

  • How does payment work?

At the first fitting, you will receive a list of the work we will be doing and a quote for its cost. This payment is due at the second fitting. We can accept cash, checks, or payments through Venmo.

  • How long will the fitting be?

For bridal fittings, the first fitting takes an average of about two hours. The second fitting typically takes less time and is usually under an hour. For formal dress fittings (non-bridal), the fitting is, on average, an hour long, with the second fitting being under half an hour.

  • How many fittings will I have?

Typically, the fitting process consists of two fittings. At the first fitting, we will pin everything that needs to be altered. At the second fitting, we will check to make sure everything that was worked on fits properly, go over how to get you into and out of the dress, and, if needed, show the bustle process.
